Kent Driving School - DSA Approved Instructor
Theory Test
You will be asked to answer 50 multiple choice questions. To pass you must answer 43 questions correctly followed by a test of your hazard perception skills. You will need to pass both parts of the theory test at the same sitting to obtain your theory test pass certificate. Once you have passed you can then apply to take your practical driving test. The theory test currently costs £31 & the local test centre is in chatham. If you need any help with the theory test, don't worry Kent Driving School will do as much as they can to help you pass!

How long will it take to pass my test?
According to the DSA (Driving Standards Agency), those who pass their driving test have had, on average, 45 hours of professional training combined with 22 hours of private practice. Learners who combine professional instruction with private practice are also more successful on test. The driving test currently costs £62.00.
Remember the DSA figures are just a guide and not a guarantee of how many lessons you'll need to pass your test.

What to look for when finding a Driving Instructor
Although the price is important, be aware of anything that seems too cheap as there is normally a good reason for this! Always ask how long they have been qualified, what grade are they? (grade 6 being excellent, grade 4 is good). There should be a green badge displayed in the windscreen of a fully qualified Instructor, If the badge is pink you are with a trainee instructor which means they are not fully qualified. If there is no badge you are with an unqualified and unlicenced person which is illegal.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Colin O'Farrell at Kent Driving School on 0781 207 2457 or email kentdrivingschool@hotmail.com

Insurance for Young Drivers
As you may be aware the cost of insurance for young drivers is not cheap, especially for young males! Kent Driving School recommends you get as many quotes as possible from the insurance comparison sites as each site uses different companies and also consider using direct line as they will not feature on any comparison websites. Insurance will be cheaper on a provisional licence rather than a full licence as you are considered less of a risk as Learner's will always have someone experienced there to guide them. Certain companies do offer pay as you go insurance but be aware there are some restrictions on these quotes but it is worth looking in to. Please visit our links page for more information.
